Vancouver then Disney Cruise to Alaska

Capilano Suspension Bridge and Park

Purchased  by George MacKay in 1889, the 6,000 acres of forest had a beautiful Capilano river flowing right through the middle of the property. George and his team pulled ropes across the river and erected a suspension bridge.

Tam is standing on the Cliffwalk which is 30 stories above the river.

I am on the Cliffwalk and removed the people in the photo with Google Photos Edit application.

Raptors are brought in to show and educate the visitors. A lady sat with this bird on her glove speaking with anyone that would listen. Very cool.

Tam standing on the porch of a 150 year old house cut from logs in the area.

Tam walking over the suspension bridge. The bridge is 450 feet (137 meters) long and moves a lot.

Stanley Park
Great place to bike ride and walk along the sea wall.
Stanley Park is almost 1,000 acers (400 hectares) in downtown Vancouver. They built the seawall around the park and added walking and biking paths to the top of the seawall. This is a must see and do if the weather is right.
We rented bikes at one of the dozen bike rental places at the start of the path. Four bikes, and two were electric) were under $100 for the 2 hours it took us to ride around the park.
You would think someone took our picture, but with Robs long arm he reached out an took a selfie for us.

Disney Wonder to Alaska

The Disney Wonder is the second Disney cruise ship that is run by Disney. It is noticeably smaller than the newer ships. We noticed the elevators and the gathering locations like the Disney Theater and Buena Vista Theater are smaller. It was refurbished in 2019 and looks great.

Boarding the ship in Vancouver. Part of the hurry up and wait when getting on. Shortly afterwards we were off to Alaska with 2,400 of our closest friends.

Don't cry over spilt milk. Forklift driver did not have a solid grip on the pallet of milk.

Icey Straight Point Alaska

Small iceberg floating next to the ship.

In front of the glacier that is between the mountains on the Disney Wonder.

Off in the distance is a glacier.

This is a short video of seven quick videos of a whale next to our Disney Cruise ship.

Brown Bear looking for dinner. We are on the whale watching boat and were lucky enough to see the bear.

Seals fighting for space on the buoy.

Juneau Alaska

Nice walk along the shoreline.

Not our ship, but one that happened to be in the shot.

Tam with a cold Minnie Mouse.

I spent a great deal of time reading on deck 4. So nice to sit and bundle up in one of the blankets.

Ketchikan Alaska

Welcome to Ketchikan. Walk right off the ship into town. We were told everything that is for sale in Ketchikan was brought in from a ship from some other place.

Tour at sea on the Aleutian Ballad. David and Big D from the Deadliest Catch. You should not miss this tour.

We all held different species of crab, starfish, shrimp, and other sea life.

They drove the Aleutian Ballad over to an island that was loaded with bald eagles. I stopped counting at 30.

The US vs Canada lumberjack show. These guys are the real deal and make money putting on this show.

When not putting on this show they compete in the Lumberjack competition. On the right is Ethan "The Heathen" Villnave.

Sunrise was 4:30 AM and sunset was around 9:00 PM. I would recommend the interior cabin with no window (portholes). :-)

Blowing My Mind

Items that I have collected,  in no particular order,  that  BLOW MY MIND. I have been collecting and writing down information that blows my mind. Here is a list, in no particular order, of information that I have picked up shortly after I was born in 1958. It is crazy how much information that has changed or is changing as I grow older. The Universe In no particular order: The universe was created 13.8 billion years ago. Big Bang - Only two elements were formed one million of a millionth of a millionth of a second after the big bang. Because of heat after the big bang these two elements were created. 1. 75% hydrogen  2. 25% helium 400 million years after the big bang, the stars are formed under extreme heat. The stars start to fail and explode which created carbon, oxygen, iron, nitrogen cooked and then exploded. E=MC² shows that Energy and Mass are interchangeable which is how energy turned into elements or mass. The earth is 4.543 billion years old. Life on earth evolved after b
