This 1979 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 reportedly spent time in Washington and North Carolina before being brought to Idaho by the seller eight years ago. It is finished in yellow with a white roof over a gray vinyl interior, and power comes from a 4.2-liter 2F straight-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a two-speed transfer case. Additional equipment includes a 2″ lift kit with Old Man Emu suspension components, an aftermarket stereo, a roll bar, and 15″ steel wheels. This FJ40 is now offered with an owner’s manual and a clean Idaho title in the seller’s name.
The truck is finished in Mustard Yellow with a white roof on the removable hardtop and features a vented hood and ambulance-style rear doors. Factory 15” steel wheels are finished in white and wear stock hubcaps and BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain tires. A matching spare is mounted on the swing-out rear carrier, and the front axle is equipped with manually-locking hubs and disc brakes. A two-inch lift kit has reportedly been added, and an Old Man Emu sticker is affixed to the rear leaf springs.
The interior features gray vinyl-upholstered front bucket seats with adjustable headrests as well as a roll bar and inward-facing rear benches. Black vinyl mats protect the floors, and an aftermarket Pioneer stereo fitted in the center console area is paired with two speakers in the cargo area. A stock three-spoke steering wheel sits in front of a body-colored dash that houses an 80-mph speedometer that contains a five-digit odometer that is stuck at 37k miles, approximately 500 of which were added by the seller. True mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter 2F straight-six sends power to the rear or all four wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a two-speed transfer case.
