Martinsville Speedway NASCAR Weekend

Martinsville Speedway Weekend

I'll start out by confessing, I am not a big NASCAR fan. Growing up an hour outside of Daytona Florida, I was more into IMSA than NASCAR or Porsche's than Fords. A buddy of mine who is a HUGE NASCAR fan asked if I wanted to go in his rented Allegro motorhome so I jumped at the chance to see a race close up, and I mean really close up.

We parked right at the fence and looked down on the track which was twenty feet from our bumper. The motorhome needed nothing more to keep us comfortable. If you are able, you should rent the space and motorhome and park it at the track.

The sights and sounds of the cars racing around the track is hard to beat when you are sitting on top of the track looking down. We watched the crews setup and take down each night.

We were lucky enough to get tickets to join the driver "meet and greet" and also the drivers meeting. Very cool to meet one of the best in NASCAR Martin Truex Jr. He was a great guy and his wife is just exceptional. Together they are trying to make a difference with the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation

Martin Truex Jr. and Claire B Lang of Sirius XM Radio
Before the race with were able to walk the pit and speak to drivers and celebrities there to watch the race.
Martin Truex Jr. and a Chopper Pilot minutes before the race.
The pit lane was really crowded and so many sights and sounds in such a small space. TV was the king of the pits then came drivers, teams, news and fans.
Michael Waltrip and Hotdog
Jeff Gordon

We sat with Martin Truex Jr's crew during the race and I was able to film a couple pits tops. The crew was practicing the stops and oiling their guns before each stop. I think they could do this in their sleep.

And your winner was...   Brad Keselowski

Blowing My Mind

Items that I have collected,  in no particular order,  that  BLOW MY MIND. I have been collecting and writing down information that blows my mind. Here is a list, in no particular order, of information that I have picked up shortly after I was born in 1958. It is crazy how much information that has changed or is changing as I grow older. The Universe In no particular order: The universe was created 13.8 billion years ago. Big Bang - Only two elements were formed one million of a millionth of a millionth of a second after the big bang. Because of heat after the big bang these two elements were created. 1. 75% hydrogen  2. 25% helium 400 million years after the big bang, the stars are formed under extreme heat. The stars start to fail and explode which created carbon, oxygen, iron, nitrogen cooked and then exploded. E=MC² shows that Energy and Mass are interchangeable which is how energy turned into elements or mass. The earth is 4.543 billion years old. Life on ea...

Vancouver then Disney Cruise to Alaska

Capilano Suspension Bridge and Park Purchased  by George MacKay in 1889, the 6,000 acres of forest had a beautiful Capilano river flowing right through the middle of the property. George and his team pulled ropes across the river and erected a suspension bridge. Tam is standing on the Cliffwalk which is 30 stories above the river.  I am on the Cliffwalk and removed the people in the photo with Google Photos Edit application.    Raptors are brought in to show and educate the visitors. A lady sat with this bird on her glove speaking with anyone that would listen. Very cool.  Tam standing on the porch of a 150 year old house cut from logs in the area.  Tam walking over the suspension bridge. The bridge is 450 feet (137 meters) long and moves a lot.  Stanley Park Great place to bike ride and walk along the sea wall. Stanley Park is almost 1,000 acers (400 hectares) in downtown Vancouve...

I Bought a Model X

I PURCHASED A TESLA  MODEL X P90D Performance After many years of saving and talking myself into purchasing a Tesla I broke down and purchased a fully loaded (-1 option) Model X P90D. The only item I am missing on my car was a trailer hitch. Tesla Model X P90D w/Ludacris mode Nothing to see here, but a bunch of chickens.
